Mitsuru TATEISHI (né en 1962 à Tosu, Japon) vit et travaille en France depuis les années 1980.

Artiste autodidacte, il développe une œuvre abstraite dans laquelle le phénomène de paréidolie occupe une place centrale, sollicitant l’imagination du spectateur. Ses peintures et ses sculptures émergent de fluides instables et de réactions chimiques, donnant naissance à des motifs végétaux, célestes ou minéraux. Au cœur de son processus réside la tension entre accident et maîtrise. Mitsuru TATEISHI privilégie une approche empirique : la matière, soumise à la dynamique des fluides et aux propriétés physiques des pigments, génère ses propres équilibres, l’invitant à devoir dialoguer avec l’inattendu. Ces surfaces, traversées de volutes, de couches et de réactions imprévisibles, deviennent le lieu d’une matérialité pleinement incarnée. Sa pratique s’inscrit dans la filiation contemporaine de l’accident comme principe d’apparition du motif. Mitsuru TATEISHI (born in 1962 in Tosu, Japan) has lived and worked in France since the 1980s. A self-taught artist, he develops an abstract body of work in which the phenomenon of pareidolia plays a central role, engaging the viewer’s visual imagination. His paintings and sculptures emerge from unstable fluids and chemical reactions, giving rise to vegetal, celestial, or mineral motifs.
