The Ritsch-Fisch Gallery is a historic gallery of outsider art, founded in Strasbourg in 1996. Richard Solti is its owner and director. As a creator of exhibitions and projects developed in partnership with public and private cultural institutions, the Ritsch-Fisch Gallery is present at international art fairs in France, the United States, and South America.
The gallery’s mission is driven by the ambition to bring together different generations of artists and various periods of art history, with historic outsider art as the starting point. Its program aims to rediscover the work of artists whose creations were disregarded, marginalized, scorned, or hidden, and to create a dialogue with the work of young artists whose concerns include not only the preservation of life and contemporary environmental issues but also themes of inclusivity and diversity.
Among the artists supported by the gallery are the most important figures in historic outsider art, such as Carlo Zinelli, Henry Darger, Stefan Holzmüller, and Josef Wittlich, as well as contemporary artists like Cassandre Albert, Hervé Bohnert, and Laure André, who share a similar sensitivity. By organizing the dialogue between these artists’ works, the gallery highlights the timeless relevance of these artistic expressions.
