1886 – 1964
Born in Lausanne in 1886. After an unhappy love affair, Aloïse leaves for Germany where she becomes the nanny of the children of the chaplain Guillaume II. The return to her home country in 1914, causes important disorders in her behavior until leading to an internment for schizophrenia. In 1920, she begins drawing, at first in secret, then in 1941, on big paper rolls, representing like scenes from her very intimate universe. She dies in 1964 after 46 years of internment.
